Showers, Henry lead Lady Mounties past Tyrone

PHILIPSBURG - Abby Showers had two hits, including a home run, and knocked in five runs, and freshman Chelsea Henry tossed a two-hitter to lead Philipsburg-Osceola to a six-inning 10-0 win over Tyrone in high school softball Tuesday.

P-O's Haley Frank had two hits, as did teammate Megan Bainey, who hit a solo home run.

CRESSON - Thanks to Kelly Yusko's three-hitter and Kate Little's double and triple, Penn Cambria handed Johnstown its first loss.

PC's Taylor Freeman also had two hits, including a double, off of Madison McKee. Johnstown's Amber Maurer had two hits off of Yusko, who struck out eight and walked none.

The Lady Panthers will play Johnstown again at 9 a.m. Saturday in the first round of the Penn Cambria Tournament.

FLINTON - Keneisha Gustafson had three hits, and Ellie Leyo had an inside-the-park home run and a triple as Glendale defeated Moshannon Valley, 18-6, in five innings.

Anna Flowler and McKenzie Lukehart each had two hits for the Lady Vikings
