Northern Bedford scores two in 9th to sink Titans

SAXTON - Northern Bedford plated two runs in the top of the ninth inning to get by Tussey Mountain, 12-10, in an ICC North and Sideling Hill League high school baseball game that featured 33 hits Thursday.

Eric Grace went 4-for-5 for the Black Panthers with three runs and two RBIs, while Isaac Stern had three hits and two RBIs, Wes Foor had three hits, Jake Frederick had two hits and three RBIs and Kyler Diehl knocked in two runs. Wyatt Brumbaugh was 3-for-5 with three RBIs for Tussey, while Josh Novakowski stroked four hits, Daniel Taylor came up with two doubles and a single and scored three run, T.J. Swope had two hits and two RBIs and Michael Runk had two hits.

Zach Clark got the win on the mound for Northern.

Spring Cove beats Bisons

BEDFORD - Josh McKnight threw a complete game and had seven strikeouts, had three hits, including a double, and scored two runs to help Spring Cove beat Bedford, 5-2, in junior high action.

Spring Cove's Alex Hoenstine scored two runs, while Michael Speck had an RBI and a run scored. Spring Cove is 5-0.

Altoona Teener Major

Quinton Newberry had two hits and three RBIs for Cumming Motors, as it defeated Furrer Beverage, 15-2, in five innings.

John Allen added three hits for the winners, while Mitchell Conrath got the win.

Jessie McElhinney, a former Cumming Motors player who passed away the day after Christmas, was honored prior to the game with a moment of silence.

n Damon Morris, Tanner Swales and Darren Hall each drove in two runs to help Police top C&G Savings, 12-0, in five innings at Seitz Field.

Cullen Gahagan collected two hits, and Noah Robertson and Jarrett Cavalet combined on a two-hitter.
