Barbara J. Miller, 68, Hollidaysburg, died Tuesday at home after a brief illness.
She was born in Stephensburg, Ky., daughter of the late Roy and Clara (Young) Yates. She married Frederick W. Miller on Aug. 27, 1962, and he died May 19, 2008.
Surviving are three daughters: Michele Thompson, Kelly Black and husband, Bob, and Julie Singer and husband, Paul Jr.; seven grandchildren: Kristin, Alan and Ben Thompson, Zachary, Casey and Brandon Singer and Kaitlyn Black; two great-grandchildren: Issac Benner and Emma Thompson; a sister, Dotty Peters; and a brother, Eugene Yates and sister-in-law, Maxine.
She was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
Barbara was a 1962 graduate of Elizabethtown High School in Kentucky, and she had been employed at the Hollidaysburg Area Public Library and as a driver for Intermediate Unit 8. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, followed by a funeral service at 6 p.m. by Pastor Mary Emery. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hollidaysburg Area Public Library or Relay For Life Club '81 at the American Cancer Society, Hollidaysburg.
