Audrey K. Koch, 86, Altoona, formerly of Hollidaysburg, died unexpectedly Monday at her residence. She was born in Tyrone, daughter of the late William Clayton and Jean Kathryn (Warefield) Noal. She married Russell James "Big Jim" Koch on Aug. 4, 1944, at Dry Run. He preceded her in death Oct. 8, 2003, after sharing 59 years of marriage.
Surviving are eight daughters: Delinda Clapper in Montana, Naomi Neff of Duncansville, Debbie Kenney and Brenda Weller, both in Florida, Joanna Nadolsky of Hollidaysburg, Margaret "Peggy," Donna Watson and Anita Mateo, all of Altoona; four sons: Bill, Jimmy and Tim, all of Altoona, and Denny in Florida; 39 grandchildren; 80 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Doris Walters of Altoona and Edith Noal of Duncansville; and a sister-in-law, Lois Noal.
She was preceded in death by two daughters: Carolyn Jean Kuny on March 7, 2012, and Shirley Eileen Miller on Jan. 13, 2013; a grandson, Wayne Allen Clapper; a great-granddaughter, Brittani Lyn Koch; and a brother, Robert Noal of Duncansville.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a 10 a.m. funeral service will be held Thursday, April 18, 2013, Pastor John D. Leatherman officiating.
