Tayler Pressel

April 15, 2013
The Altoona Mirror

Name: Tayler Pressel

High school: Northern Bedford

Hometown: New Enterprise

Sport: Football

Position: Tight end

College choice: Shippensburg

Other colleges considered: Millersville, Clarion

Why I picked Shippensburg: "I really liked their coaches and the atmosphere down there.''

Greatest high school achievement: Scoring 1,000 points during my high school basketball career.

Coach Jeff Batzel's quote: "He was valuable in a lot of immeasurable ways. He not only racked up a lot of nice receiving stats, but he was also our best blocker and an outstanding linebacker on the other side of the ball. His work ethic will serve him well as he acclimates to that level of football. I would fully expect him to be a contributor to the program in two to three years.''

How I got my start playing football: "My parents signed me up for flag football in second grade.''

Favorite college growing up: Penn State

Other interests: Weightlifting and hunting

What getting to play in college means to me: "I think it is a high achievement for myself. It was a high goal for myself, and I am glad I achieved it.''

Probable college major: Criminal justice

Parents: Brad and Stacy Pressel
