Penn State has been bringing in prospects all during spring practice, and the Nittany Lions got a commitment from one of them on Saturday - Mount Lebanon wide receiver Troy Apke.
Apke had the fourth-most receiving yards in the WPIAL last season (1,048) and the fifth-most catches (54). He also scored 14 touchdowns.
After the season, he was a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette south region Fabulous 22 selection.
The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder is the son of former Pitt linebacker Steve Apke. He was believed by some to be favoring the Panthers. Apke also had offers from Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Minnesota, Bowling Green and Toledo.
Apke is the fourth 2013 prospect to commit to Penn State.
