Mrs. Alice J. Rudolph, 89, Altoona, died Friday at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, after an extended illness.
Mrs. Rudolph was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Thomas L. and Margaret E. (Dixon) Hartsock. She married Charles J. "Bud" Rudolph on Nov. 27, 1948, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He died on Nov. 5, 1973.
Alice is survived by four children: Mary Beth (Charles) Edmonds of Tucson, Ariz., Thomas J. (Nancy) Rudolph of Steelton, Pa., Michael J. (Margie) Rudolph of Altoona and Alice A. (Jack) Rowley of Pittsburgh; seven grandchildren: Hallie Edmonds, Sarah and Mitchel Rudolph, Jessica and Nathan Rudolph and Jack and Grace Rowley; and a brother, Dr. Robert J. (Marjorie) Hartsock of Pittsburgh.

Alice was preceded in death by three siblings: Thomas P. Hartsock, Lt. John R. Hartsock and Mary Margaret Brown.
Alice was a 1941 graduate of Altoona High School.
She was a homemaker. Alice retired as a secretary at the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing.
She was previously the chairwoman for the Blair County Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Christian Mothers, Legion of Mary and the Nocturnal Adoration Society.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and playing pinochle.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2013, at Jones Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be celebrated during the visitation. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with the Rev. David R. Rizzo officiating. Committal rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
