Freda M. Grasser, 80, Imler, passed away Monday at home.
She was born in Imler, daughter of the late Oscar and Grace (Gochnour) McCreary. She married Roy F. Grasser on Sept. 15, 1951, in Virginia, and he passed away April 13, 1997.
Surviving are three daughters: Janet Peterson of Upland, Nancy Russell and husband, Todd, of West Chester and Susan Heck of Altoona; two sons: Michael and companion, Melissa, of Imler and Joseph and companion, Karen, of Altoona; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters: Dorothy Rexford in New York and Helene Ickes of Imler; and a brother, Harry McCreary of East Freedom.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, April L. Grasser; and a sister, Mary Feathers.
Freda was a graduate of Bedford High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed volunteering at the Imler Volunteer Fire Company, eating out, shopping and crossword puzzles.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, Pastor John Bennett officiating. Interment will be at Imler Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Imler Volunteer Fire Company or St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Imler.
