Stef McCoy, a Chestnut Ridge High school graduate, smacked a two-out, two-run double for the Indiana University of Pennsylvania softball team in a 2-1 victory over Mansfield on April 4.

Jackie Smith, a Hollidaysburg graduate, pitched eight innings, allowed just two runs and struck out five for the Penn State Altoona softball team in a 4-3 win over Mount Aloysius recently.

Aaron Kovach, a Hollidaysburg graduate, drove in a pair of runs for the Mount Aloysius baseball team in a doubleheader sweep of Penn State Altoona.

Hollidaysburg graduate Jake Weibley was 3-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and two RBIs for the Slippery Rock baseball team in a 12-0 victory over West Liberty.

Cambria Heights graduate John Fees gave up just one earned run in seven innings to pick up a victory for the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown baseball team in a triumph over Wheeling Jesuit.

Hollidaysburg graduate Nate Pope tossed a complete-game shutout for UPJ in a 4-0 win over Charleston on April 2.

Northern Bedford graduate Peter Riley was 3-0 for the Grove City tennis team in both singles and doubles competition this past week.

Jeremy Swartz, an Altoona graduate, finished with seven kills and a block in his first start for the IPFW men's volleyball team in a win over Pfeiffer recently.

Bedford graduate Justin Clapper won the discus throw with an effort of 43.30 meters and was third in the hammer throw with a distance of 44.56 meters at the Crusader Outdoor Classic for the Juniata track and field team.

Tyrone graduate Jimmy Ferguson finished 41st with rounds of 80, 75 and 77 for the St. Francis golf team at the Keith Hills Invitational April 2.

Central Cambria graduate Ed Maruca shot three consecutive rounds of 81 to finish 53rd for the red Flash.

Philipsburg-Osceola graduate Zack Czap shot a career-best 84 for the Lycoming golf team and finished in a tie for 28th at the Lebanon Valley College Spring Invitational.

Brian Leap, a Bellwood-Antis graduate, finished second in the triple jump at the Crimson Tide Invitational jumping an outdoor personal best for 50-0 (15.24) for the Penn State track and field team.

Akron sophomore Jess Delic, a Penn Cambria High School graduate, threw the javelin 143 feet, 6 inches to win the event in the Ohio Northeast Quad Meet at Akron against four other teams.

Susquehanna sophomore Jared Minori, a Bellwood-Antis graduate, won the javelin in the 29th annual Jim Taylor Invitational on Saturday at Susquehanna. Minori threw for a personal-best mark of 216 feet, 0 inches, eclipsing his previous best of 204-2.
