George R. Bowser, 56, Roaring Spring, died Saturday morning at his residence after a lengthy battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS).
He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Richard and Ethel (Aungst) Bowser.
He married Joanie Copenhaver on March 29, 1991.
Surviving are his wife; two children: Crystal Bowser and Corey Salyards, both of Roaring Spring; and two sisters: Pamela Bowser Knisely of Roaring Spring and Carol Bennett of Kissimmee, Fla.
George was a 1974 graduate of Central High School. He attended Christ Church, Roaring Spring. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and NASCAR racing and was a member of Roaring Spring American Legion.
Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Christ Church, Roaring Spring, the Rev. Dr. Joel Kletzing officiating. Interment will be made in Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring.
