Pheasant home run gives Lady Tigers win

HOLLIDAYSBURG - Alyssa Pheasant's two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh lifted Hollidaysburg past DuBois, 10-9, in high school softball on Thursday.

Pheasant also got the victory on the mound, while teammate Jordan Stubbs had two hits and 3 RBIs.

Taylor Boring had two hits, including a grand slam, and knocked in five runs, and Morgan Ostinowsky pitched a one-hitter to lead Central Cambria to a season-opening five-inning win over Bishop Guilfoyle at Garfield Park.

CC's Lexi Murin had three hits, including a home run, and knocked in four runs, while teammates Ali Papuga and Kandace Long had two hits apiece.

NEW PARIS - Stephanie Deaner and Bridgit Yothers each went 3-for-3 and helped Chestnut Ridge finish off H.O.P.E. for Hyndman in five innings in one game and the Lady Lions scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning to edge Hyndman in the second game.

Deaner had three doubles, three RBIs and scored two runs, and Yothers scored three runs and had a pair of RBIs in the first game, and Karly Willison hit a two-run home run for Hyndman.

Nativa O'Brien tripled among her two hits and scored a run in the second game for Ridge.
