Kathleen (Long) Wise, 90, died Friday at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown.
She was born in Blue Knob, daughter of the late Alva R. and Mary B. (Stombaugh) Long.
She was the wife of the late Robert E. Wise, to whom she was married for more than 20 years; and the wife of the late Carl R. Tapp, to whom she was married for more than 30 years.
Mrs. Wise is survived by three daughters: Jane Kirkpatrick and husband, Philip, of Clearwater, Fla., Sharon Tapp of York and Brenda Chapman and husband, Dusty, of Camp Hill; seven grandchildren: Michael Tapp, Dustin Chapman, Jeff Chapman, Daniel Davila, Robert Bowman, Jessica Catlin and Catherine Cohen; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Jean Snowberger of York; several nieces; and one nephew.
Kathleen was a graduate of Hollidaysburg Area High School.
She was an owner and operator of Avalong Restaurant until her retirement.
Mrs. Wise was a member of Advent Lutheran Church, East York Lioness Club and the Order of the Eastern Star.
A family graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Mount Rose Cemetery, 1502 Mount Rose Ave., York. A funeral cortege will meet at the entrance of the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. A public memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Advent Lutheran Church, 1775 E Market St., York. Following the memorial service, guests will be received for refreshments and remembrance at the Eagles Nest restaurant, 2519 Mount Rose Ave.
