Genevieve M. Mikolajczyk, 87, Cresson, died Thursday at St. Leonard's Home, Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Gallitzin, daughter of the late Louis and Anna Regala.
Surviving are two children: Mary Ann of Altoona and Thaddeus (Eileen Thrower) of Cresson; a granddaughter, Dannielle Illig (Leonard) of Gallitzin; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted E., on Aug. 31, 1996; and five siblings: Stella Shyrock, Michael, Alec, William and infant Helen. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Genevieve was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Cresson, and its Legion of Mary. She liked Pope John Paul II, flowers, reading and playing bingo.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson, where Legion of Mary will recite the rosary at 3 p.m., followed by a vigil for the deceased. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013, at St. Aloysius Church, the Very Rev. John D. Byrnes as celebrant. Committal will be in the church cemetery.
