Marjorie A. "Peg" Skupien, 87, Gallitzin, died Monday in Monroeville.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Otto and Evelyn (Blackburn) Epple.
Surviving are three sons: Stephen and wife, Darlene (Hrycuna), of Export, Mark and wife, Phyllis (Lipka), of Downingtown and Christopher and wife, Patricia (McMahon), of Pittsburgh; seven grandchildren: Samuel Skupien, Vera Skupien, Bryan and wife, Catherine, Kimberly Alicea and husband, Jose, Megan Skupien, Abbie Skupien and Amy Schellhammer and husband, Michael; three great-grandchildren: Joseph Skupien, Samantha Skupien and Otto Schellhammer; two sisters: Dorothy Rudolph of Wadsworth, Ohio, and Mary Lou Skupien of Hagerstown, Md.; and a sister-in-law, Helen Ann Epple of Altoona.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J., on Nov. 19, 2010; and a brother, Richard Epple.
Peg enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reading, music and playing the organ. She was a member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin, where a vigil service will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013, at St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin, the Rev. Albert Ledoux as celebrant. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
