C. Irene Albright, 86, Tyrone, died Wednesday at her residence.
She was born in Tyrone, daughter of Paul and Edith Mae Weston. She married Calvin R. Albright on Aug. 17, 1946, at the Tyrone Church of the Brethren, and he preceded her in death June 3, 1985.
Surviving are five children: Larry (Cynthia) of Tyrone, Susan Helsel (Dennis) of Murfreesboro, N.C., Sandra Miller (Terry) of Tyrone, David A. (Theresa) of Tyrone and Sally Huff of Knightdale, N.C.; a son-in-law, John Gurekovich of Tyrone; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jean Dickson of Tyrone.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon A. Gurekovich.
Irene was a 1944 graduate of Tyrone High School and had been employed as a cook in the Tyrone Area School District cafeteria for a number of years. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren, where she had served as a deacon and as a Sunday school teacher and was a member of the choir, Women's Fellowship and senior adult Sunday school class.
Irene particularly enjoyed family gatherings, being with her grandchildren and baking and giving Christmas cookies to her family.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Monday, March 18, 2013, at the Tyrone Church of the Brethren, Pastor Jeff Miley officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
