Notable: This is the third time in Bishop Carroll history that the Huskies have advanced this far in the state tournament. Carroll is 2-0 in this round of the PIAA playoffs. Lincoln Park is the two-time defending PIAA runner-up after being knocked out in the semifinals in 2010. Lee and Ranck raised their scoring averages by 0.8 and 0.5, respectively, in combining for 60 points in the win against Vincentian. Already attracting Division I college attention, Rowan is the son of former Notre Dame and St. John's player Ron Rowan. Lincoln Park is located in Midland, from where St. Francis and NBA great Norm Van Lier hailed and whose high school won five state titles before shutting down. A Monessen and Summit Academy transfer, Minnie had the verdicts in two eligibility hearings reversed to begin playing for the Leopards in midseason. Javens won a national championship at Community College of Beaver County before taking over at Lincoln Park.
