Margaret Jeannine (McCabe) Swick, 84, Hollidaysburg, died Monday, March 11, 2013, at Altoona Regional surrounded by family.
She was born in Pitcairn, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Litzinger) McCabe. She married Michael Swick on Sept. 6, 1952, at SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Wilmerding, and he preceded her in death after sharing 51 years of marriage.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathleen (Lee) Celio of Huntingdon Valley; a son, Thomas of Hollidaysburg; two grandsons: Michael and Christopher; two sisters: Mae Condrasky and Bonnie Iandmarino; and four sisters-in-law: Sophie Bannon, Helen Swick, Esther Swick and Jean Swick.
Jeannine was a graduate of Pitcairn High School and Penn State University. She was a telephone operator with Bell Telephone and later a schoolteacher at St. Rose of Lima, Altoona. In her later years when the opportunities presented, she traveled to Europe, Asia and Australia.
Jeannine was a parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, where she was a member of the Legion of Mary and Ladies' Guild and was active in the Cursillo Movement.
Friends will be received from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, followed by a funeral Mass at 1 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, by Father Anthony J. Legarski.
