Paul R. "Tony" Supenia, 75, of 504 Washington Ave., Tyrone, died Tuesday at his residence.
He was born in Ginter, son of John and Helen (Youstic) Supenia. He married Sarah L. Rorabaugh on April 25, 1959, and she died Sept. 21, 2010.
Surviving are a son, Paul "Mark" (Kathy) of Sanford, N.C.; a daughter, Andrea "Andie" Fletcher (Mike) of Tyrone; six grandchildren: Sarah Puckett, Shellie Gray, Brad Supenia, Brandon Supenia, Michael S. Fletcher and Kolbe Fletcher; four great-grandchildren: Charlie Puckett, Daimien, Toni and Alexi; two brothers: James and Edward; two sisters: Shirley Lewis and Barb Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: George, John and Thomas; and two sisters: Martha and Marie.
Tony had various jobs, working in coal mines and as a milkman, and he retired as a Pinkerton security guard at Westvaco Corp. He helped a lot of people as a self-employed junk hauler. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the lottery and spending quality time with his grandchildren. He also hung out at the Elks Lodge 212, where he was a lifetime member.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Derman Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, where an Elks memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at the funeral home, the Rev. Norman E. Huff officiating.
