Mary Lucille Furry, 84, formerly of rural Martinsburg, passed away late Monday evening at The Village at Morrisons Cove, Martinsburg.
She was born in rural Williamsburg, daughter of the late Herman C. and Carrie E. (Hoover) Rhodes. She married Robert O. Furry on March 11, 1949, in Winchester, Va., and he passed away Nov. 15, 2002.
Surviving are three sons: Steve and wife, Colleen, and Roger and wife, Wanda, all of rural Roaring Spring, and Gregory and wife, Kay, of Osterburg; seven grandchildren: Michael, Ryan, Jessica, Shara, Wesley, Kristen and Joshua; six great-grandchildren: Sean, Andy, Brody, Elaina, Wyatt and Willow; and a brother, Daniel of Coatesville.
She was preceded in death by an infant grandson; two sisters: Geraldine Young and Evelyn Edwards; and five brothers: Arthur, George, William, Denver and Dean.
Lucille was a 1948 graduate of Morrison Cove High School, Martinsburg. She was a lifelong member of Smithfield Church, rural Martinsburg. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and spending time with all of her extended family, especially with her grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013, at John C. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, Chaplain Linda S. Banaszak officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be given to Smithfield Church Missions Fund.
