Elizabeth "Betty" DeStefano, 88, Blue Knob, joined her husband, Carmen, and beloved son, Danny, in their eternal home on Sunday.
She lived most of her adult life on Shady Plain Road, Apollo, moved to Florida for some time and most recently lived with her daughter, Jeanine, and her family in Blue Knob.
Betty was the loving mother of Karen DeStefano, Rosemary (Sam) Ross, Mark (Diane) DeStefano, Carmen DeStefano, Jeanine (Dave) Decker, Lisa Marcy and Teresa DeStefano; and the sister of Lawrence O'Toole, Thomas O'Toole, Nancy Arrigo, Bernice Milko, Judith Catanzaro, Marguerite Dickson and Mary Slane. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Carmen DeStefano, son, Danny, and brother, James O'Toole, preceded her in death.
Betty thoroughly enjoyed bingo, was an avid reader, crocheted afghans for family members and was an excellent baker.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at St. James the Greater Church in Apollo. Burial will be private at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 100 W. Station Square Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
