Thelma L. Davis, 92, The Village at Morrisons Cove, Martinsburg, formerly of Burnt House Road, Imler, died Wednesday afternoon at Altoona Regional.
She was born in Lincoln Township, daughter of the late Warren and Hattie Rebecca (Fickes) Claycomb. She married S. Edgar Davis on Sept. 2, 1939, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 2008.
Surviving are two daughters: Beverly M. Bechtel and husband, Robert, of Curryville and Nancy D. Cessna and husband, R. Perry, of Woodland; five grandchildren: June Kocher, Todd and Kelly Bechtel, Anita Kissinger and Bobbi Howsare; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Corle.
Thelma was a homemaker who worked for the Chestnut Ridge School District as a teacher's aide and a secretary. She was a member of Weyant United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir, served as church secretary and was a Sunday school teacher for young adults. She enjoyed spending time with family at their get-togethers.
Friends will be received from 1 until the 2 p.m. funeral service Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Weyant United Methodist Church, Pastor Gary Blankley officiating. Interment will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.
