There has been much controversy about the county selling Valley View Home.
Our family has a loved one there as a resident. He is receiving excellent care on all levels. We are kept in the loop on any changes and on information on his condition and care. What's going to happen to this person's care when the facility is sold?
To sell Valley View is a travesty. The option to sell the facility should have been presented to the citizens of Blair County in the form of a referendum on the ballot.
It should be our decision on what happens to a facility that was founded for the residents of this county - not to a special group who thinks the opinion of the residents doesn't count.
We elected the commissioners. Shame on them for not caring enough for the people who really need this facility.
