Notable: Everett is seeded first, Tussey second. The Lady Titans finished as runner-up last year. The teams split their regular season meetings. The Lady Warriors won, 56-51, on Jan. 17, and Tussey answered with a 50-38 victory on Feb. 11. ... This will be the first time since 2002 a team from the Sideling Hill League wins the 5-AA championship. Everett won eight between 1990 and 2000, and Tussey captured three from 1995-2002. Tussey won District 5 Class A titles in 2009 and 2010. Everett is expected to be without G Logan Brallier (11, 5-4 jr., 9.3) after she sustained her second concussion of the season Jan. 31.
District 6 Class A girls championship

Notable: Guilfoyle is the top seed, Portage second. The Lady Marauders set a District 6 Class A record by winning their sixth consecutive championship last year. Only the 1992-2000 Altoona girls in Class AAAA have won more in a row. Portage is participating in its first-ever district final. This is the second time in three years the Lady Marauders and Lady Mustangs have faced off in the postseason. Guilfoyle eliminated Portage in the quarterfinals two years ago, 64-30; six of the starters from that game are expected to be on the floor to start tonight's contest. This is BG's 33rd trip to the district finals. The Lady Marauders are 22-10 in the previous championship games. Adams and Bates are the Mirror's last two players of the year. Both have made the all-state team and both have signed with Division I colleges - Adams with Siena and Bates with Mount St. Mary's. Chobany and Olivia McCabe both scored their 1,000th points this season.
District 6 Class A boys championship

Notable: Carroll is the first seed, Guilfoyle the second. ... The Huskies are the defending 6-A runners-up. ... Guilfoyle also advanced to the PIAA tournament last year after winning the 6-A consolation game. ... The teams split a pair of Laurel Highlands Conference Section 1 meetings this season, each winning on the other's home floor. Carroll prevailed, 47-23, on Jan. 7. Guilfoyle returned the favor, 58-54, on Feb. 9. ... This is the third year in a row and the fourth time in five years these teams have met in districts, with Carroll winning the previous three. The Huskies defeated the Marauders in the semifinals last year, 49-42. The last time the teams faced off in the district final was 2008, with BC coming out on top by two. That was the last time Guilfoyle reached the championship game. Carroll is seeking its third title in six years. The Huskies last won it in 2011. Koehle injured his shoulder in the win over Homer-Center but is expected to start for BG.
