William F. Yingling Jr.

William F. Yingling Jr., 89, Duncansville, went home to be with the Lord Sunday at home.

He was born in Duncansville, son of the late William F. Sr. and Annie Viola (Stengle) Yingling. He married Alma Martz on April 9, 1946, in Johnstown, and she passed away Dec. 4, 1989.

Surviving are four daughters: Shirley Young and husband, Larry, of Altoona, Nancy Yingling of Duncansville, Jane Baird and husband, John, of East Freedom and Karen Chappell and husband, Jim, of Duncansville; and four grandsons: Josh, Jared and Jonathan Baird and Jeremy Chappell.

He was preceded in death by three grandchildren: Bryan Chappell, Clarissa Chappell and Baby Baird; and four sisters: Margaret Clapper, Mary Smith, Bernadine Smith and Gladys Neeley.

Bill served in the U.S. Army during WWII and retired as a loom mechanic from the Juniata Silk Mills in 1985. He attended Smith Corner Mennonite Church, and he enjoyed woodworking, hunting and gardening.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, and 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Miller Funeral Home, East Freedom, Pastor Dave McClanahan officiating. Interment will be at Dry Run Cemetery, Duncansville.
