United Way of Blair County announces its inaugural signature event, "Laugh United," to be held April 4 at the Blair County Convention Center, Altoona.
The evening features a night of comedy and entertainment. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and a cash bar will be available throughout the night, with a seated dinner featuring petite filet mignon and grilled shrimp at 6 p.m. The cost is $45 per person.
Regional favorite magician Richard Mangiacarne will perform from 5:30 to 7 p.m., followed by a local improv act at 7 p.m., a live auction and headliner comedian Mark Eddie at 8 p.m.
Eddie is a national comedian with a musician's point-of-view on everything from pop culture to parenting. With his guitar, signature voice and happy-go-lucky spirit, Eddie points out quirky things in the hits we love, while delivering dead-on musical impressions of Al Green, Neil Diamond, Shaggy, Dave Matthews and more. Having toured professionally for 14 years as a musician/singer/songwriter and producing several comedy CDs, Eddie has a knack for putting a satirical spin on pop anthems, music headlines and rock legends. Eddie has been featured on Comedy Central and Sirius XM satellite radio and has performed in clubs across the country.
