I'm responding to letter ("Gates on worthy mission") on Feb. 14.
I think that Dr. Gates and people like him should keep their opinions to themselves when it comes to Medicaid and food stamps.
If it wasn't for Medicaid, people on fixed incomes couldn't afford the medications they have to take and without food stamps, there would be a lot of people starving because they have to choose between paying for their prescriptions and buying food on their fixed income.
If it wasn't for Gateway, which is a free health-care insurance, I couldn't afford the medications that I have to take for life, and if it wasn't for food stamps, I couldn't afford to buy food to eat to live.
People like myself have to rely on Medicaid and food stamps to stay alive.
