Margaret Isabel Diehl, 98, Seffner, Fla., and Claysburg, passed away Thursday in Florida.
She was born in Canan Station, daughter of George W. and Frances (Stambaugh) Brightbill. She was raised by George and Lena Wilt. On Feb. 14, 1935, she married Ernest P. Diehl. He passed away on Feb. 16, 1988.
She is survived by a son, Alfred E., with whom she resided; a daughter, Janet Sollenberger (Nevin) of Claysburg; grandchildren: Cynthia Stiver (Donald) and Scott Sollenberger (Dana); and greatgrandchildren: Zachary, Westley, Haden and Madison; and Al's daughters of his heart: Gina Jensen and Aimee Jokerst.
She was preceded in death by brothers: John, Earl, William, George and Donald Brightbill; and sisters: Claire Webb, Frances Lingenfelter, Helen Salyards and Mary Hoenstine.
Mrs. Diehl and her husband had owned and operated a coal dealership in Claysburg before retiring to Florida in 1981.
Mrs. Diehl was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church, Claysburg, serving as Sunday school teacher for many years.
She was a 1932 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School.
She loved flower gardening, bowling and being with her family.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at Christ Lutheran Church, Pastor Kaye Hute officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church or Claysburg Volunteer Fire Company.
