Walter L. 'Wally' Kiel, 90, Portage, passed away Saturday. He was born in Conemaugh, son of the late Harry and Johanna (Busch) Kiel. Surviving are his wife, Viola (Smardo) Kiel; sons: David, Les and Brian; and three grandchildren. Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Church, Father Walter Moll, celebrant. Committal with military rites by Portage Veterans Ritual Team will be at St. Bartholomew Cemetery, Wilmore.
