Bernice Ann French, 70, Altoona, died Monday at her residence after an extended illness.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Franklin and Rosella (Litzinger) Bennett.
Surviving are two daughters: Faith Ann (French) Crum and Hope Ann Ellis and husband, Bill; four sons: Earl III and wife, Michele, Jim and wife, Trish, Andy and wife, Tina, and Bruce and wife, Brenda; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandchild and another on the way; three brothers: Frank Bennett and wife, Carol, Raymond Bennett and Lester Bennett and wife, Patty; many nieces and nephews; and her companion of many years, Harry "Buzz" Garman.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Albert and Robert.
Bernice worked at the Toy Warehouse, Saf-T-Bak and Save-a-Lot, from which she retired after many years of service. She was a member of the Heidelberg Country Club and enjoyed playing bingo and bowling.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Anthony P. Scaglione Funeral Home, 1908 Seventh Ave., Altoona, where a memorial gathering and service will be held by Pastor Hud Crossman of the Field of Harvest Fellowship Church. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
