I feel that there is a misunderstanding about the Second Amendment and the assault weapons ban.
Our forefathers had enough foresight to know that without adequate protection of the Constitution and the Republic, a government could easily become a dictatorship and that we would be at their mercy.
It was intended by our forefathers that we use all means possible to protect the constitution.
This cannot be done with shotguns and bolt-action rifles.
The Second Amendment is to protect all amendments, and we may be called upon to sacrifice our lives to protect the Constitution.
Any true patriot would understand this.
