Alfred "Junior" Simmers Jr., 85, Van Ormer, died Sunday at Altoona Regional. He was born in Van Ormer, son of the late Alfred N. and Ida M. (Mayes) Simmers. He is survived by a brother, John of Utahville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Fred; and four sisters: Ellen, Flora Matthew, Anna and Dorothy Helsel. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow, and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at Hollentown Assembly of God, Pastor Joe Hollen officiating. Burial will be in Beaver Valley Cemetery, Flinton.
