William Baldwin Paisley, 82, Altoona, died Sunday at Altoona Regional.
He was born in Youngstown, Ohio, son of William Murdock and Ethel Pearl (Wilson) Paisley. He married Doris M. Cox on March 1, 1952, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Johnstown, and she died July 29, 2011.
Surviving are two children: Jacqueline and Bruce; five grandchildren: Nicole (Chambers) Kinney, James Chambers, Brandon and Preston Paisley and Neo Rodrigue; two great-grandchildren: Gretchen and Joel Kinney; a stepsister, Anita Galyan; and a niece, Amy Paisley.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gretchen Chambers; a brother, Jack; and a nephew, Russell Paisley.
William was a 1947 graduate of Connellsville High School, a 1951 graduate of State Teachers College at Indiana with a B.A. in art education, and a 1958 graduate of Penn State University with a master's degree in art education. He served with the U.S. Air Force in England during the Korean War.
William taught in the Everett School District from 1954-62 and then in the Altoona Area School District from 1962-89, first at Keith Junior High School and then Altoona Area High School. He retired after more than 34 years of teaching. He enjoyed reading and cooking.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the noon memorial service Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, the Rev. Fred Miller officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
