Betty M. Tritle, 90, formerly of Pine Avenue, Altoona, died Wednesday morning at Homewood at Martinsburg.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Charles A. and Alfarata (White) Tromm. She married Harry E. Tritle Sr. on Feb. 1, 1941, in Elkton, Md., and he preceded her in death on July 31, 1988.
Surviving are two children: Harry E. Jr. and wife, Sue Ann, and Sharon J. Wardrop and husband, Dennis E., all of Altoona; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, John R., on March 31, 2000; a great-grandson, Hayden Elliott Plotts, on Sept. 21, 2009; and a brother, John A. "Arkie" Tromm, on Feb. 3, 2013.
Betty was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, Altoona, and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Altoona Chapter. She enjoyed oil painting, sewing and knitting.
Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. today, Feb. 8, 2013, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, followed by a funeral service at 6 p.m., the Rev. John L. Emig officiating.
