Joseph K. Zeiders, 65, Hollidaysburg, died unexpectedly Sunday at Altoona Regional.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Arthur P. and Helen (VanZandt) Zeiders. He married Linda L. Winters on July 1, 1967, in Hollidaysburg.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years; a daughter, Melissa at home; a son, Bradley J. and wife, Deborah J., of Duncansville; four grandchildren: Caitlin, Haleigh and Eagle Scouts Tyler and Dylan; two sisters: Jane Bainbridge and husband, Chuck, in New York and Ruth Culver and husband, Jim, of Shartlesville; two brothers: Donald and wife, Nancy, in South Carolina and Karl Price and wife, Ida, of Tyrone; two sisters-in-law: Patty Winters and Donna Rudasill and husband, Howard; a nephew, Eric Leasure and wife, Gerri; a special aunt, Nellie Zeiders; and two special boys: Daniel and Conner Owen.
He was preceded in death by five brothers.
Joseph was a 1966 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He retired from Blair Senior Services Inc. after 29 years as a van driver. He was a life member of the Phoenix Volunteer Fire Company, Hollidaysburg, and was one of the first Hollidaysburg responders to become certified as an EMT with Blair County. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved the outdoors and camping.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, the Rev. Jaime G. Olson officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
