Ingrid Healy-Tucker, 54, Altoona, died Saturday at Altoona Regional after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Tampa, Fla., daughter of Rose Healy and the late John G. Healy. She married Michael Dean Tucker on Sept. 9, 2009, in Woodstock, N.Y.
Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Carlee Roth of Altoona; her mother; two brothers: John and Jeff Healy; and two loving nephews: Jacob J. and Ian J. Healy, both of Altoona.
Ingrid was a 1976 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School and earned an associate's degree in retail marketing from Penn State University. She was employed at the Blair County Courthouse as the director of elections. She was a member of the Women's Club of Hollidaysburg and was a supporter of farm animal sanctuaries.
Ingrid enjoyed the art of preparing vegan cuisine for her family and friends and educating them, as well as tending her herb garden, plants and flowers. She had complete consideration for all humans, which spilled over into compassion for all animals on earth.
Friends will be received from 3:30 until the 5:30 p.m. memorial service Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, the Rev. Peggy J. Bonsell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society.
