Sadly, the recent incident of violence that took place in Geeseytown is a harsh reminder that even here, in our home county of Blair, we are not safe from random acts of terror and mayhem.
However, we can take solace in the fact that brave and vigilant members of state and local law enforcement are ever watchful over our safety and well-being.
We saw courage on display during this recent incident when Pennsylvania state police troopers as well as local township and borough police officers put their lives on the line to bring this horrific act to an end.
We are grateful for all first responders, be they law enforcement, paramedics, or firefighters. To those who run in when everyone else is running out, to those who put their lives on the line daily so that we can enjoy our freedoms, we salute you.
