FLINTON - Katelyn Matthews recorded a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds as Glendale picked up a 40-33 Inter-County Conference North Division and Moshannon Valley League win in getting by Moshannon Valley in high school girls basketball Wednesday.

Ally Kronenwetter's nine points fronted the Lady Damsels, who were playing under new coach Michelle Grube-Gardner. The former assistant took over for Van Cornish, who stepped down as head coach.

MARTINSBURG - A second quarter in which Central was outscored put the Lady Dragons in a hole they couldn't overcome as they lost to Bald Eagle Area in Mountain League action.

Central (7-9 overall and 5-5 Mountain League) placed three players in double figures as Brayley Lewis led the way with 18 points, while Mikaela McGraw chipped in 16, and Taylor McKnight knocked down four 3-pointers and totaled 13.

Marissa Ward poured in a game-high 26 points for Bald Eagle, and Mary Pillot added 12 as the Lady Eagles improved to 15-1 and 10-0.

DAVIDSVILLE - Portage received 17 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks from Olivia McCabe and 12 points from Emily Chobany, but the Lady Mustangs were outscored, 22-10, by Conemaugh Township in the fourth quarter in a clash of two of the top teams in the WestPAC North.

Portage (16-2 overall, 9-1 WestPAC North) was up 13 at one point in the third quarter, but McCabe and Chobany sat a good portion of the second half because of foul trouble. Conemaugh (13-3, 7-2) capitalized, going 27-of-32 from the free-throw line.

Conemaugh received 23 points from Kayla Luprek and 22 from Lyndy Baer.
