Ridge’s Wiley hits 1,000

NEW PARIS - Senior Adam Wiley needed 19 points to reach the 1,000-point mark for his career, and he delivered with 19 to lead Chestnut Ridge past Forbes Road, 69-38, in a Sideling Hill League game in high school boys basketball action Wednesday.

Wiley scored his 1,000th point early in the fourth quarter. He reached the milestone despite missing half of last season with a season-ending injury.

"Adam's been great for our program, on and off the court,'' Ridge coach Randy Meck said. "He's been a great role model in our Little Lions program. He does a lot for us - he scores and rebounds. It's been a pleasure to coach him.''

Ben Pick contributed 16 points, and Tyler Wiley hit four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points. Ridge broke out to a 20-0 lead after one quarter and coasted to its 13th victory in 15 games.
