Dorothy L. Seidel, 95, Altoona, passed away Monday at Altoona Center for Nursing Care.
She was born in Woodbury, daughter of Elmer W. and Viola E. (Querry) Bassler. She married the late John H. Seidel.
Surviving are three nieces: Doris K. Martin, Joanne Ralston and Peg Martz; two nephews: Fred and Gary Bassler; four great-nephews: Kent Martin and wife, Maurie, Bill Martin, Jeff Jones and Randolph Martz; and two great-nieces: Vicki Jones and Kathleen Montgomery.
She was the last sibling of her immediate family.
Dorothy was a graduate of Woodbury High School. She was a member of Wehnwood United Methodist Church and was an active and life member of the former Grace United Methodist Church. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a member of AARP. She loved flower gardening, children and animals.
Friends will be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Axe and Santella Family Chapel, 1534 Fourth St., Altoona, the Rev. Evelyn Madison officiating. Interment will be at Dry Hill Cemetery, Woodbury.
In memory of Dorothy, contributions may be made to Wehnwood United Methodist Church or the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society.
