Carolyn E. Patton, 78, Tyrone, died Monday night at Epworth Manor, Tyrone.
She was born in Tyrone, daughter of Francis A. and Carrie E. (Harpster) DeLong. She married James G. Patton in 1954, and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are three children: James G. (Linda) of Altoona, Cynthia Ann (Bill) Harpster in Oklahoma and Donald F. (Anna) of Tyrone; seven grandchildren: Amanda, Heather, Amber, Ashley, Taylor, Katrina and Autumn; two great-grandchildren; two siblings: Pat (James) Getz of Hastings and Bill in Tennessee; and a best friend, Don.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert L.; and two siblings: Marjorie Horner and Francis DeLong.
Carolyn was a 1952 graduate of Tyrone High School. She was a self-employed artist and seamstress. She was very talented and enjoyed working in both ink and watercolors. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and had been a member of the Wesley Choir. She also had been a member of the Tyrone Community Players and the Allegheny Chorale.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at Wesley United Methodist Church, the Revs. Paul Johnson and Jason Guillaume officiating.
Arrangements are by Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone.
