James Anthony Turiano III, 66, of 145 Grace Road, Altoona, died Saturday.
He was born in Philipsburg, son of the late James A. Jr. and Margaret E. (Burd) Turiano.
Surviving are a son, Michael John (Terri) of Altoona; a grandson, Michael John Turiano Jr. of Altoona; a brother, George (Patty) of Warriors Mark; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a twin brother, Charles.
James was a 1964 graduate of Tyrone High School, received an associate's degree in civil engineering and had attended DeVry Technical Institute. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving as a medic. He was last employed for eight years at the Huntingdon County Courthouse as director of Veterans Affairs, and he continued to help many area veterans with disability claims and benefits.
James was a member of VFW Post 4559, American Legion Post 281 and Hookies Fire Company.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or service. Arrangements are by Derman Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone.
