Anthony "Tony" Mignogna, 88, Bensalem, passed away peacefully Wednesday at his home.
He was born in Juniata but spent most of his life in Bucks County. He was the son of the late Michele "Michael" and Mary Donatello (Misciagna) Mignogna.
Tony was adored by his wife and best friend of 59 years, Dolores (Markel), and deeply loved by his son, Michael (Barbara), and daughters: Barbara Mignogna-Korus (David), Toni Marie Brugger (Joseph), Lisa Smith (Michael), Diane Lindenmuth (Gary) and Karen Oravitz (John).
He was a beloved grandfather to Angela, Steven (Katie), Brian, Justin, Michelle, Kevin, Joseph, Tyler, Morgan, Jacob, Connor, Eve, Carly, Isaac, Emily, Nicholas, Kaitlyn and Megan (deceased).
He is also survived by his sister, Josephine Smith, and was preceded in death by his brothers, Salvatore "Michael" and Paul.
Tony was employed by U.S. Steel as a millwright from 1955 until his retirement in 1984. He also spent many years working for Levitt & Sons as a stonemason in addition to some early years with the Pennsylvania Railroad.
Tony was dedicated to his family, and his greatest joy was spending time with them, whether it was trips to Wildwood, N.J., Sunday afternoon card games, playing softball or cheering on his favorite teams on TV. He was also a devoted Catholic who celebrated his faith through Mass and frequent prayer.
Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, and 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Ephrem Church, 5400 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, followed by the Rite of Committal in Resurrection Cemetery.
