PATTON - Needing 15 points coming in to reach 1,000 for his career, Cambria Heights' Isaac Vescovi finished with 20, but it wasn't enough for the Highlanders to overcome visiting Somerset, 68-57, in a Laurel Highlands Conference intersectional game in high school boys basketball Wednesday.
Vescovi reached the milestone on a drop-step inside late in the contest, making him the fourth member of his family to score 1,000.
Nathan Bearer added 15 for the Highlanders. Somerset was led by Brent Barron with 20 points and Mike Flyte with 14.
