Barbara E. Stayer, 80, Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg, passed away Monday at the home.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Charles and Anna Mae (Yeager) Trimer. She married William F. Stayer, and he died July 10, 1997.
Surviving are five children: Karen Stayer and Frank in California and Diana Stayer, Mary Bracciale and Danny, William P. Stayer and wife, Deborah, and Brian E. Stayer and wife, Teresa, all of Altoona; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and seven siblings: Anna Mae O'Conner of Rochester, N.Y., Charmine Seeman of Mercer, Janie Lewis of Oil City and Patricia Stolz, Judy Robbins and David and James Trimer, all of Altoona.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald.
Barbara was a 1950 graduate of Altoona High School. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, and she enjoyed bingo, bowling, collecting bears and spending time with her family.
Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
