Jesse F. "Jay" Emeigh Jr., 66, Roaring Spring, passed away Sunday at Altoona Regional.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Jesse F. Sr. and Margaret (McCarty) Emeigh.

Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Audrey Hainsey-Emeigh; two daughters: Dana Emeigh-Harold (Tom) of Herndon, Va., and Gina Emeigh-Smith (Tim) of Canton, Ohio; two stepsons: Dale Hainsey (Julie) of Duncansville and Kelly Hainsey (Sheila) of Bellwood; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; four stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; three sisters: Helen Waugh (Don) of Silver Spring, Md., Ann Baker (Glenn) of Roaring Spring and Linda Meadows of Hollidaysburg; and his cat, Munchkin.

Jay was a 1963 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School and attended the University of Maryland. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He retired from North American Communications in 1993 and then built computer furniture.

Jay was raised in the Methodist faith and was a member of the Altoona VFW and Hollidaysburg American Legion. He enjoyed football, basketball, baseball, Gettysburg and war history, and war movies.

There will be no viewing. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at the New Life Alliance Church in the former East Freedom Elementary School, Pastor Ed Jelliff officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the family.

Arrangements are by Miller Funeral Home, East Freedom.
