Myrtle E. Campbell, 88, Altoona, died Tuesday evening at her home.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Thomas A. and Agnes (Grannas) Ryan. She married Kenneth W. Campbell Sr. on July 17, 1943, in Altoona, and he preceded her in death in 1995.
Surviving are seven children: Carol L. Lincoln (Larry) of Gainesville, Va., Kenneth W. Jr. (Diana) of Juniata, Sheryl K. Fox (Robert) of Duncansville, Deborah L. Carey (Francis) of Quakertown, Alan R. of Duncansville, Shirley A. Donnelly of Altoona and Matthew M. (Debra) of Martinsburg, W.Va.; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, William L. Ryan.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Ryan; and a daughter-in-law, Virginia Campbell.
Myrtle was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She retired from the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home as a nurse's aide after many years of service. She was a member of Grace Family Bible Church, where she was active in the prayer chain and had taught junior church for many years.
Myrtle enjoyed serving the Lord and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her going-home message, "See you in the morning."
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Grace Family Bible Church, Duncansville, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, Pastor James Zaebst officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kenneth W. Campbell Sr. Memorial Brigade through Grace Family Bible Church.
