Lester Burket Jr., 67, Virginia Beach, Va., unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord Friday, Jan. 11, 2013.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Lester Sr. and Myrtle Burket.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Ardyth; a son, Lester III and wife, Holli, of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren: Noah Burket and Abbey and Joel Wessner, and a great-grandchild, Brycen, all of Virginia Beach; two sisters: Carol Smith in Pennsylvania and Bonnie Light in South Carolina; a niece, Billie Shin in Pennsylvania; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph; and a son, Rusty.
Lester retired from the U.S. Navy after 23 years of service. He was a member of Virginia Beach Beacon Baptist Church, where he was involved with the outreach program.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Beach Funeral Services, 4456 Bonney Road, Virginia Beach. A home-going service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Virginia Beach Beacon Baptist Church.
