Isadore H. "Izzy" Weakland Sr., 87, Patton, passed away Sunday at Golden LivingCenter-HAIDA.
He was born in Carrolltown, son of the late Robert Baker and Clara (Weakland) Cafeo. He married Awilda I. Bott on March 14, 1949, and she died on March 10, 1999.
Surviving are four children: Izzy "Butch" (Terry) of Brunswick, Ohio, Bonnie Lou of Patton, Jim of Coalport and Richard "Terry" (Doreen) of Patton; eight grandchildren: Theresa, Natalie, Jacob, Joshua, Jenna, Tracy, Richie and Adam T.; three great-grandchildren: Chloe and Kirsten Weakland and Kay Marie Bolen; a sister-in-law, Louise Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janie Louise; and his stepfather, Tony Cafeo.
Izzy served with the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He was employed at the Patton Clay Works from 1953-62 and also worked as a custodian for the Cambria Heights School District and Trinity United Methodist Church for 25 years, retiring in 1988.
Izzy was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Patton, and was very active in the Cub Scouts, Patton American Legion and Patton VFW. He enjoyed reading his Bible and caring for the elderly people in the community.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Stevens Funeral Home Inc., 1004 N. Fifth Ave., Patton. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Patton, by the Rev. Paul Demi. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Patton. Full military rites will be accorded by John White VFW Post 779 and Walter McCoy American Legion Post 614.
