Harold H. ‘Knobby’ Knob Sr.

Harold H. "Knobby" Knob Sr., 81, Altoona, died Saturday at Altoona Regional.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late John and Mary (Lehner) Knob. He married Shirley R. Knott on Feb. 11, 1956, in Altoona. She preceded him in death on Jan. 22, 2007.

He is survived by two sons: Terrance L. and wife, Nancy, and Timothy M. and wife, Therese, all of Altoona; and a daughter, Brenda Lee Burley of Lancaster; seven grandchildren: Michelle Metzgar, Matthew, Timothy, Tom and Kayle Knob and Brianna and Miranda Burley; and a great-granddaughter, Emma Metzgar.

He was preceded in death by two sons: infant Terrance Michael and Harold H. "Hank" Jr.

Harold was a member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament.

He retired from Bravin Construction after 35 years as a mason, enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and being outdoors, and was a life member of the Bricklayers Union.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at the Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association in Knobby's memory.
