Binnie Loretta Imler, 85, Hollidaysburg, died Friday at Altoona Regional, after an extended illness.
She was born in Duncansville, the eldest daughter of the late Hileman and Ethel Mae Imler. She married James Robert "Bob" Imler, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by four children: Judy VanAtta, Ron (Gale) and Don (Linda), all of Duncansville, and Bob (Darlene) of Virginia Beach, Va.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Izella "Sis" Bowser, a brother, Kenneth Imler, and her beloved son-in-law, William "Bill" VanAtta.
Binnie was a 1946 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hollidaysburg and a member of the Eastern Star.
Binnie was active in the community. She spent many years crossing students at the comer of Penn and Pine.
She enjoyed knitting, card playing, traveling, canning and cooking. She had a life-long sense of humor.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, and from 10 until the 11 a.m. services Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Liebegott-Brown Funeral Home Inc., 1218 Fourth Ave., Duncansville.
Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hollidaysburg Public Library and/or the First United Methodist Church: Visitation Programs.
